There is a Co-Ed Winter Touch League starting up soon!! It is optional, and will consist of referreed short matches with teams made up of players from our men's, women's, and youth teams. It will run on Wednesdays at 7pm starting November 30th at the Malta Community Center, 1 Bayberry Drive, Ballston Spa. Right off of route 9, just north of route 67. The cost will fluctuate depending on the numbers in attendance, and is expected to be around $5 per night.

Our Holiday Party is the evening of December 10th at Irish Times. All of the details are not confirmed as yet, but we expect to offer 2 hours of open bar (which will consist of beer, including bottles, wine, and mixed well drinks), and heavy hors d'oeuvres/appetizers. We anticipate the cost to be ~$40 per person, and you are free to invite your friends, family members, significant others....but we need a head count. Saratoga Rugby is Raising Funds for

Special Olympics NY

Saratoga Rugby will be ‘Freezin for a Reason’ for the 4^th year in a row by participating in the 2011 Polar Plunge at Shepard’s Park Beach in Lake George, NY on November 19^th. It's less than a week to go, and we are asking that you consider helping to support our efforts to raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics NY. Please follow the 'Sponsor Us for the Polar Pluge' tab on the left to make a general team donation.  THANKS!!

LAST MATCH OF THE SEASON!!

We have our last home match of the fall season this Saturday, 10/29 vs UAlbany!!

Please be at the field costumed and ready to warm up by 10:45am.  Kickoff is at high noon.  Social at Trotters immediately after the game.

A big THANK YOU to all who participated Friday night cheering on the Special Olympic athletes during their Opening Games Ceremony!!

Please be advised:
1. There is no practice this week.
2. We are still trying to schedule a home game for this weekend, since Burlington is not available. Traveling to Utica is also an option if we cannot schedule a home match.
3. We have cancelled our match with Ithaca on Nov. 5.
4. We are having a Pre-plunge fundraising event at Irish Times from 6pm – 9pm on either Nov. 3 OR Nov. 8. We will have a guest bartender night at their upstairs bar, and 20% of all drinks sold as well as the tip bucket will be donated to our plunge team. The date is still to be determined. This will be open to the public, so make sure to bring friends and family members!!
5. The Polar Plunge is Nov. 19th. Please sign up. Go to our website for the link to register with our team.
6. Our holiday party is scheduled for December 10th at Irish Times. More details will be forthcoming. Your dues must be paid in order to be eligible to attend.
7. Officer elections and an end of the season party are coming up soon. Please think about who you would like to represent our team for the upcoming season.

Home match this Saturday, 10/22!! PIRATES VS NINJAS...Um, I mean SWR vs. Uticuse:)  Kickoff at high noon.

We are dressing up as Pirates...so start getting your hooks sharpened and cleats on your peg legs. Social at Trotters after the game. There is a possibility Hudson Valley and Burlington will be playing immediately after us (we're kind of a half way point) so that may delay the start of the social.

Also - please remember that this Friday we are volunteering at theopening ceremonies for the Special Olympics in Glens Falls.

Our match this weekend is HOME vs Vermont Law, kickoff at NOON! 

Followed by the Saratoga Men kicking off at 1:00pm!

Meeting time: 10:30 a.m. to set up the field and have a good warm up
Social: We will head to Trotters after the men's game around 3:45, but
we have fun planned at the field between games.

Our match this weekend is AWAY at Ithaca.  The match starts at 1:00pm.  We will meet at the Malta Mall carpool spot at exit 11 and we will be leaving promptly at 9:00am If you are planning to meet there, please plan to ARRIVE by 8:45am.

If you are meeting us at the pitch, please be there booted up and ready to warm up by 11:45am. The address is 220 Pine Tree Road (the exact directions from any location can be found on Ithaca’s website under Cornell Pitch - www.ithacarugby.com). There will be a social to follow at Second Floor Bar on the Ithaca Commons.

Our match this weekend is AWAY at Green Mountain College. The match
starts at 10am. Please be at the field ready to warm up by 8:45am. The carpool meeting place will be at 7:15am at the Wal-mart parking lot off of exit 15. It will take just over an hour to get there from Saratoga, so plan on leaving at 7:30am. There will be NO social after the game as it is parent’s weekend at the college. The college's address is 1 Brennan Circle Poultney, VT.

The Saratoga Stampede Men’s Rugby Team is playing at home this weekend. Their game starts at 1pm at Shenetaha Creek Park, and there will be a social after that where all can join in the fun.
